Gerenrally, my impression of dis laptop is that it’s just a slightly refreshed variant of it’s previous generation – which is nice if you’re into retro stuff, I guess.

Downsides fixable – the floppy drive, Citizen W1D, has belt mechanism and I had to replace the belt; these drives are often dead after many years. This game uses a DOS installer. Ideally I’d be looking for active matrix displays and sound support, if nothing else. Win98 DOS mode is working great, games are running fine, but problem here is fan noise, always spinning at max speed under DOS, quite uncomfortable.
This game features the smoothest animated graphics ever seen in an Apogee game. I reinstalled Windows 98 on my X last night, and it appears after some tweaking, the sound chip is working great under DOS mode.

Both MIDI ports are simultaneously accessible through the 5-pin DIN connectors gmaeport the front panel, with input and output available for each. I am thinking to replace it with a TFT one. It’s in very nice condition and I wouldn’t mind selling it to create some space. Now…since Thumb2 was created, it has almost the same performance, but is smaller, resulting in more fitting into icache, so almost all code benefits from being thumb2.

That’s the best DOS laptop ever made. You can even put the mount commands in your ini so that you load up your old games archive on one DOS drive, utils on another, etc. For details on how gamepoort install a game in DOSBox, please check this tutorial.
